I was recently interviewed and accepted to participate
as a People-to-People Student Ambassador this summer. This 14-day trip
to Canada includes meeting with
government officials, interaction with international
students my age, educational activities, and we will
stay on the Black Foot Indian reservation and study
their culture.
In case you have not heard of People-to-People, Dwight
D. Eisenhower founded People-to-People in 1956. He
believed that if people from different cultures could
come together in peace and friendship.
To learn more about the
program...
Each People-to-People Ambassador is carefully
interviewed and evaluated before their acceptance into
the program. I have to keep my grades high and have
recommendations from adults who know me, my teachers
and various school administrators. As a Student
Ambassador, I can earn high school and college credit
because of the many educational elements in the
Program.
Although family, friends, local businesses and the
City of Encinitas have been supportive,
unfortunately, I am still
$800 short of my financial goal so I
am still seeking financial support. The program
tuition is $3,500, which includes all meals,
transportation, accommodations and educational
activities. I know it is a lot of money. I am
asking each of my friends and family to help
support this experience and help me reach my
goal. I am excited to share my experience with my
family and friends when I return by presenting
photographs and my journal.
If you know of a business that would like to
support me I would be proud to wear their logo and
represent them when I speak to the public or
during my travel adventures.
Is it possible for you to assist me by contributing
$10-$50 or whatever amount you are comfortable with?
Checks may be payable to the People-to- People Ambassador
Program or you can use
your credit card. Your generous donation will
enable me to participate in this wonderful
opportunity.
Thank you in advance for your support.
Sincerely,

Student Ambassador
